Contentment

I haven't been around the blog world lately. It doesn't mean I'm not reading, just haven't opened up my own blog to put thoughts to paper, so to speak. This time, I have no excuse. Work is busy, but I'm fortunate to be leaving at or around 5 p.m. lately. We haven't traveled a lot - though that will be changing this week as I have two conventions to attend. And we haven't been particularly swamped with plans. It's wonderful, actually.

So, why haven't I been blogging?

I'm busy.....being completely and wholeheartedly content with life right now.

To sound a little bit trite and somewhat like Ferris Bueller, life is a constant journey and I'm trying to look up and soak in the present. There have been times in my past when it felt like there was no light at the end of the struggles God placed before me.

But there was light. And we are living and seeing it daily now! So why haven't I been blogging the joy that life has brought the summer? Why am I not sharing these daily laughs, delicious experiences, joyful moments?

I'm too busy living in them.

Praising God for our jobs.

Walking the dogs and stopping to visit with neighbors.

Meeting new friends and catching up with old.

Sipping wine on the porch.

Trying new classes at the gym.

Experimenting with recipes and projects.

Saving and planning for the future.

Running errands and stopping for frozen yogurt.

Forgive me for sounding cliche. But this is where we are with life and I am absolutely loving it. This is what contentment feels like. Not wondering when things will change, for better or worse. Just simply living the individual moments that strung together create days and days of absolute delight.

I love this blog and the readers and the chance to look back at my past. I'm not closing up shop or going private. I want to share about the many things that will come in the future, be it small or big. But today and for right now, I'm just thankful for contentment. Thankful and living in each and every moment.
